The Pearl or Lace Gourami is one of the most attractive and easily kept Gourami. It is a member of the anabantoids (Labyrinth Fish) and breaths atmospheric air as well as oxygen in the water.

Species – Pearl/Lace Gourami - Trichogaster Leeri

Current Size – 3cm - 4cm

Adult Length –  10cm

Temperature Range – 25 - 28°C

pH Range – 6.5– 8.0

Special Requirements - A fairly easy going fish. They do require access to the surface so that they can breathe atmospheric air.

Tanks Mates and Compatibility – One of the most peaceful gouramis and an excellent community fish. Males are territorial with one another however and can also be quite hard on the females when they want to breed, so ensure there are adequate hiding places in the aquarium. Do not keep the pearl gourami with aggressive or very vigorous fish or it will become withdrawn.

Feeding – In the aquarium these fish will normally accept dried products once they are recognised as edible, but should be offered plenty of small live or frozen foods such as DaphniaArtemia or chironomid larvae (bloodworm) to ensure development of optimal colour and condition.

Please note – Some images used are library photos and will show the colour potential at a fully mature size, as our fish are juveniles they may vary.

We always aim to supply the fish as close to the purchase size as possible. On rare occasions if this is not possible we will contact you.

The fish are selected at random however you are welcome to make a note on the order and the fish manager will do his best for you, requests are dependent on stock at the time of your order.
