These puffers are incredibly cool!
They are native to Thailand, Malaysia and Indonisia. They live in smaller slow moving rivers and shallow small ponds. They do well ambushing small fish and crustaceans. It is advised that no other fish are housed with these fish as they will quickly become a snack.

pH Range – 6.5 - 7.0
Special Requirements - These should be regarded aggressive fin nippers. The tank should be a minimum of 150L and well established with mangrove roots, live plants and tanned to a golden colour. They do need to be in a low pH and can be very sensitive to poor water quality.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Best to be kept species only or in pairs, they will feed together and then normally return to their territories. Dividers can be added to tanks to keep aggressive fish seperated.
Feeding – They will eat worms, live food, absolutely love snails and crab legs. They are able to crush the shells with ease.
