Keyhole Cichlid - Cleithracara Maronii

Community

The Keyhole cichlid is a naturally shy fish and feel confident when surrounded by small shoaling fish, such as tetras, and use this as an indicator that there are no threats in the vacinity. They can be territorial when mating but at other times are easy going tank mates that will not attack anything above a few mm. They will tolerate a wide range of water chemistry providing it is stable.

Adult Length: 5.5 – 11cm (The male is larger).

Temperature Range: 23 - 29°C

pH Range: 5.0-7.5

Special Requirements: They prefer a slow moving aquarium. They should not be introduced to an immature aquarium as they are susceptible to deteriorating water quality.

Tanks Mates:  The Keyhole Cichlid is a good community fish, providing it has plenty of hiding places. It becomes more confident when housed with small shoal fish.

Feeding: . The Keyhole is an omnivore and is not fussy about its diet. It will accept the majority of dry feeds and all live and frozen food.
