The Endler Guppy is hardy and undemanding in an aquarium. They are smaller than the original guppy but their bodies and tails are beautifully coloured.
Because of their small size (even as adults) they make an excellent choice for small desktop aquariums, but do enjoy a roomy environment when available to them. Also, Endlers are an especially peaceful fish so get along extremely well with other peaceful fish in a community set up.
Being live bearers, it is very common to get up in the morning and find a new generation has been born overnight.
Guppies have a wide temperature range and will happily live at room temperature in most houses.
Species – Endler Guppy – Poecilia Wingei
Current Size – 1.5cm
Adult Length – 5cm
Temperature Range – 16 - 28°C
pH Range – 6.5 – 8.0
Special Requirements - No real special requirements apart from choosing their tank mates wisely. If they constantly have their tails nipped, they will not thrive.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Not suitable for a general community due to their small size and should be kept alone if breeding is to be attempted. Good tankmates are other small peaceful species such as dwarf corydoras, small rainbowfish such as Iratherina werneri or Pseudomugil sp. and peaceful tetras. While males are peaceful towards one another, females may act quite territorially and so several should be kept in order to disperse potential bullying
Feeding – Unfussy and will accept most foods, whether frozen, live or dried.
Please note – Some images used are library photos and will show the colour potential at a fully mature size, as our fish are juveniles they may vary.
We always aim to supply the fish as close to the purchase size as possible. On rare occasions if this is not possible we will contact you.
The fish are selected at random however you are welcome to make a note on the order and the fish manager will do his best for you, requests are dependent on stock at the time of your order.
