Uaru Cichlid - Uaru amphiacanthoides

These guys are grown on site, they have only taken 2 months to get from 4cm up to 7cm. Alot of shape has added to these fish! They look stunning now.

The Uaru cichlid is a relatively gentle giant and subtley beautiful South American from the backwaters of the Amazon basin. They are a peaceful fish that is territorial but rarely overly aggressive   
                 

Adult Length cm: 20 cm.

Temperature Range: 23 - 29°C

pH Range: 5.0-7.5

Special Requirements: They prefer a slow moving aquarium. They should not be introduced to an immature aquarium as they are susceptible to deteriorating water quality.

Tanks Mates:  The Uaru Cichlid is a  Semi-agressive South American cichlid and so tank mates should be picked carefully. It does need quality hiding caves to be truly happy.

Feeding: . The Uaru is an omnivore and is not fussy about its diet. It will accept the majority of dry feeds and all live and frozen food.
