Forest Snakehead

Channa lucius

Channa lucius, also known as the Forest Snakehead, is a striking predatory fish native to Southeast Asia. It features a sleek, torpedo-shaped body with beautiful green-brown camouflage patterns and distinct ocelli (eye spots) on the dorsal fin. Unlike some larger snakeheads, C. lucius remains relatively moderate in size, usually reaching around 30–40 cm. It thrives in soft, acidic waters with plenty of cover and is best kept solo or in large, carefully managed setups.
