The Bangka Snakehead, also known as Channa Bankanensis , is a species of Snakehead ffish native to Indonesia and Malaysia. Bangka Snakeheads have a unique respiratory system, allowing them to breathe air from the surface.

Current Size – 7cm

Adult Length – 14-30cm

Temperature Range – 22 - 28°C

pH Range – 6.0 - 7.5

Special Requirements - A large tank with plenty of space, minimum of 400 Litres

Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Choose Robust fish of a similar size carefully as they can be quite territorial. Is still best-maintained in a species-specific aquarium.

Feeding – Some specimens accept dried foods though these should never form the staple diet. Young fish can be offered chironomid larvae (bloodworm), small earthworms, chopped prawn and suchlike, while adults will accept strips of fish flesh, whole prawns/shrimp, mussels, etc.
