The Snakehead is a natural predator so is not a community fish and should be kept with other fish that are too big to be considered food. It may also eat small Invertabrates within the tank.

Species – Yellow Senterum Channa (Channa marulioides)

Current Size – 6cm

Adult Length – 55-65cm

Temperature Range – 22 - 28°C

pH Range – 6 – 7.5 they are prefered at around 6.

Special Requirements - Because they grow so large, they will eventually require a massive aquarium (at least 6 to 8 feet in length) to swim comfortably. Relatively unfussy although the aquarium should be well planted and hiding places among roots and rocks should be provided

Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Yellow Sentarum Channa are highly aggressive apex predators that will attack, kill, or eat almost anything else in the tank. They are fiercely territorial and possess a strong predatory instinct, meaning any fish smaller than them or perceived as a rival is at extreme risk. Species only is recommended but if you do want to put anything in with them then they must be too large to fit in the Channa's mouth and fast or armored enough to survive an attack.

Feeding – Carnivorous. All kind of living fishfood is accepted like artemia, bloodworm, mosquito larvae,  shrimps, insects, snails and especially earthworm. Frozen and dried pallets are accepted.

The fish are selected at random however you are welcome to make a note on the order and the fish manager will do his best for you, requests are dependent on stock at the time of your order.
