Tiger Moray Eel (Gymnothorax polyuranodon)
The Tiger Moray is one of the only species of Moray Eel to inhabit true freshwater environments. It comes from remote Papua, Indonesia. It is a hardy fish that can tolerate almost any water salinity from true fresh to almost full strength marine. They feed on a wide variety of custaceans and also small fish. .

Special Requirements: Large tanks are a must. A minimum of 400 litres.Also a tight fitting lid as, if they can escape, they will!!!
Tanks Mates: Dispite what many people believe, the Moray is not an aggressive fish, providing tank mates are large enough to not be considered a meal. Infact, it is more important to ensure that tank mates won't nip at the eel rather than the other way round.
Feeding: . Moray are carnivorous and should be fed a wide variety of feed. To encourage them to feed on frozen or pellet feeds, tong feeding is the best way. It is also great fun!
