Barred Mudskipper
The barred mudskipper or silverlined mudskipper, is a species of mudskippers native to marine, fresh and brackish waters from the African coast of the Indian Ocean, to the Marianas and Samoa in the western Pacific Ocean, and from the Ryukyus south to Australia.
Current Size – 5cm
Adult Length – 11-19cm
Temperature Range – Water Temperature: 22 - 27°C. Air and Basking Temperature: The ambient air inside the tank should be slightly warmer than the water, ideally between 28°C and 29°C (82°F to 84°F). You can achieve this by placing a low-wattage basking light or deep heat projector above the land or rock zones.
pH Range – 7– 8.5
Special Requirements - They are popular in the aquarium trade and require highly specialized brackish paludariums (tanks with both land and water areas) with high-clay mud substrates and tight-fitting lids to prevent them from climbing out and to maintain hnummidity.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – While they can live in small groups, they are fiercely territorial. Dominant males display high levels of aggression toward rivals, raising their dorsal fins and engaging in intense physical battles to defend their mud boundaries.
Feeding – Live Insects (The Best Choice): Mudskippers love hunting on land. Small live crickets, fruit flies, mini mealworms, and small Dubia roaches provide excellent mental enrichment and replicate their natural hunting behaviour.
Frozen Meaty Foods: Frozen bloodworms, Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped krill or clam are highly nutritious staples. Use feeding tweezers or tongs to wiggle these foods on the land zone to trigger their strike reflex
If you want to use dry food, opt for a high-quality sinking carnivore pellet like NT Labs Pro-F Predator Sinking or calcium-rich sticks like Hikari Crab Cuisine. Some mudskippers can be trained over time to accept these pellets from the land surface.

The fish are selected at random however you are welcome to make a note on the order and the fish manager will do his best for you, requests are dependent on stock at the time of your order.
