They are native to India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. They live in smaller slow moving rivers, streams, lakes and flooded areas in both brackish and fresh water.

Special Requirements - These puffers can be kept in a community environment but they can be fin nippers so their tank mates need to be fast moving! They can be kept in quite a high pH but can be very sensitive to poor water quality.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Can be kept with fast moving tank mates. They will nip fins if given the chance
Feeding – They will eat worms, live food, absolutely love snails and crab legs. They are able to crush the shells with ease. Feeding shellfish and snails will help to maintain sharp teeth
