The King Cobra Guppy is a selectively bred, highly ornate freshwater livebearer. Known for its striking vertical tiger stripes and exotic snake-skin patterns, this species comes in vivid color variations like red, yellow, and blue. They are peaceful, making them excellent, beginner-friendly additions to community tanks.
The guppy with live happily with other fish but their long flowing fins can often prove too tempting for some Tetras and pretty much all Barbs. ‘Guppy only tanks’ should not be dismissed as they can be truly stunning.
Being live bearers, it is very common to get up in the morning and find a new generation has been born overnight.
Guppies have a wide temperature range and will happily live at room temperature in most houses.

Special Requirements - No real special requirements apart from choosing their tank mates wisely. If they constantly have their tails nipped, they will not thrive.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Not suitable for a general community due to their small size and should be kept alone if breeding is to be attempted. Good tankmates are other small peaceful species such as dwarf corydoras, small rainbowfish such as Iratherina werneri or Pseudomugil sp. and peaceful tetras. While males are peaceful towards one another, females may act quite territorially and so several should be kept in order to disperse potential bullying. Choose tanks mates wisely. Anything that is tempted to nip fins, will nip guppies! - Cardinal Tetra, Female Fighters (not males!), White Cloud Mountain Minnows, Rummy Nose Tetra, Harlequins, Corydoras, Dwarf Gourami, to name a few.

Feeding – They are an omnivores and should be fed a good quality varied died that includes crushed flake and live or frozen food as well as Algae-based food.
Please note – Some images used are library photos and will show the colour potential at a fully mature size, as our fish are juveniles they may vary.
