Humphead Dwarf Acara
Laetacara araguaiae
This peaceful cichlid is known for its distinct nuchal hump and vibrant colouration. Native to South America, it thrives in soft, slightly acidic water with plenty of plants and hiding spots. This species is an excellent choice for community aquariums, coexisting well with other peaceful fish. During breeding, males develop brighter colors and become more territorial.

pH Range – 5.5 – 7.0
Special Requirements - As with other similar cichlids, the Acara should be kept in a tank of 100L minimum. They require good water quality and a varied quality diet. They prefer a strong water movement in the tank.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility - They are a good Cichlid community fish and can be kept with other American cichlids of similar size and nature. They do become territorial during spawning and will excavate and uproot plants at this time.
Feeding - It is an omnivore and will eat almost everything that it is offered. Live or Frozen food should be given regularly along with flakes and pellets.
