The Pseudomugil fish is a peaceful shoaling fish that enjoys a well planted aquarium with free swimming areas. They should be kept in a shoal of 6 or more.

Due to the risk of being outcompeted for food they are not well suited to a community aquarium and should be housed with fish of a similar size.

Species – Pseudomugil Red Neon

Current Size – 1cm - 2cm

Adult Length –  3cm - 3.5cm

Temperature Range – 18 - 26°C

Special Requirements - They prefer a heavily planted aquarium with a fair amount of flow in the tank.

Tanks Mates and Compatibility –  Not suited to being placed with larger fish as they may be mistaken for food or will be outcompeted for food.

These fish are incredibly pretty, ordered 6 for one of my smaller tanks, all arrived safely and got a nice mix of sexes (as requested), had coloured up within 5-10 minutes after addition to the tank and fed well straight away, very happy with the quality!

These little fish are wonderful. I received a good mix of sexes (2 males, 4 females) and they have formed a nice little group. I’ve had them a week now - they’ve settled in great and are starting to brighten up in colour. One male in particular is clearly dominant and is very interesting to watch in his courtship display! Really happy - thanks TropCo!
