Corydoras (Corys) are very popular in most aquariums due to their easy going nature, their ability to clean up the bottom and their hardiness. They enjoy the company of their own kind and so should be kept in groups.
They have an ability to breath atmospheric air from the surface.
Species – Corydoras Barbatus - Banded Corydora
Current Size – 2cm - 3cm
Adult Length – 9cm
Temperature Range – 16 – 24°C
pH Range – 5.5 – 7.5
Special Requirements - The main thing with Corys is to ensure that they do get food. In a busy community environment, feed some sinking micro-pellets to make sure the Corys get some.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility - Males are aggressively territorial towards one another and cannot be maintained together in smaller aquaria, otherwise peaceful..

Feeding - Scleromystax spp. are foraging omnivores, and most will accept sinking dried foods as well as small live and frozen varieties such as chironomid larvae (bloodworm), Tubifex, etc. Feeding a varied diet will ensure the fish are in optimum condition. Under no circumstances should they be expected to survive on ‘left-overs’ from other inhabitants of the aquarium or relied on to ‘clean’ the aquarium.
