As per most datnoid species, they generally are located in costal lagoons or irrigation canals. Trying to replicate their natural environment is essential. Tanks should include mangrove roots and should be kept tanned to keep stress levels low.

Special Requirements - Smaller fish should be kept in a well planted tank with plenty of hiding places, both floating and sinking mangrove root is essential. As the fish progresses in size, they are less fussy with the decorations within the tank.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility - The can be housed with fish of a similar size. And from the same geographical location. However they may become terrortorial.
Feeding - These fish are strictly predatory, feeding on small fish in the wild. Aquarium fish require earth worms, shrimp, bloodworm and other live food.
