This is a stunning cichlid that is originally from South America but is now found around the globe. It is certainly not a community fish. If it can fit in its large mouth then it will try to eat it! It is a large, territorial cichlid, especially to its own species.
It is a messy and voracious feeder and so filtration needs to be up to the job. You will need an aquarium of 200 gallons at least to house an adult.
Please research this fish before deciding to buy!
