Cichlasomas Ornatum

Unless you are in the know, you almost certainly wouldnt have seen one of these in the flesh! They are one of the rarest fish we have ever managed to bring in. Only a few times have they been seen anywhere in Europe. Fortunately we have a great connect in Colombia which has allowed us to source a handful of these exclusive fish. 

Adult Length: 25-30cm 

Temperature Range 25-28°C

pH Range: 6.5-7.5

Special Requirements:  Fairly easy to keep. They do become more aggressive around the 10cm mark so please be aware.

Tanks Mates:  They are territorial and will eat smaller fish or invertebrates that they can swallow. The can be kept with other fish of the same temperement, ideally larger so they won't be a bully.

Feeding: .  Predominantly a carnivore and will eat most prepared and frozen foods, including freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, and Cichlid pellets.
