Xenotoca eiseni

These are a small species of fish native to Mexico, they went completely extinct from the wild in 2003,  but thanks to conservation efforts and captive breeding programs over 10,000 now exsist in the wild. truly a special fish to have in your aqaurium!

Current Size – 5-6cm

Adult Length –  5-7cm

Temperature Range – 20-25°C

pH Range – 6.0 – 7.5

Tanks Mates and Compatibility –  These can be a nippy species, certainly not to be kept with any small fish, or fish with long fins because they are likley to get nipped! Smaller American cichlids makes good tank mates.

Feeding –  Unfussy, will accept most pellet/ flake foods, live foods such as bloodworm encourage breeding.

Please note – Some images used are library photos and will show the colour potential at a fully mature size, as our fish are juveniles they may vary.

We always aim to supply the fish as close to the purchase size as possible. On rare occasions if this is not possible we will contact you.

The fish are selected at random however you are welcome to make a note on the order and the fish manager will do his best for you, requests are dependent on stock at the time of your order.
