Eheim thermocontrolᵉ heaters are made from high-impact, anti-thermal shock glass which is temperature shock and shock resistant.  

 

This type of glass enlarges the heating surface, compresses the heat, ensures optimal, even heat emission. The heat disperses more easily, meaning that the element does not need to get as hot (forming a heat shield which the aquarium habitants do not mind touching). This uses less electricity, meaning that you do not need a heater as big as some other brands i.e. a 300w Eheim thermocontrol heater is suitable for aquariums from 600 to 1000 litres (most 300w heaters from other brands will only do 400!).
