The Red Side Blue Peacock is a striking species of African cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi in Africa. They typically sport a purple/blue colouration paired with their namesake 'red side' which adds to their natural beauty. Like all African Cichlids, they come baring their signature agression however this can be tapered with the correct sex ratios and stocking densities.

Temperature Range – 25 – 28°C
pH Range – 7.5 – 8.5
Special Requirements - All African Cichlids are territorial. They need space and a plenty of hiding spaces.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Other Lake Malawi cichlids, but Mbunas should be avoided. Haplochromis species usually work quite well.
Feeding – They are omnivorous and can easily be fed in an aquarium on such live or frozen foods as: bloodworms, mosquito larvae, crustaceans, snails, and Tubifex. These fish also readily take pellets and flakes.
