North Borneo Hampala Bimaculata
The North Borneo Hampala (Hampala bimaculata) is a striking freshwater fish found in fast-flowing rivers of northern Borneo. Known for its torpedo-shaped body and distinctive black stripes, this species is a strong swimmer and a visual delight in larger aquariums. As an active predator, it thrives on a diet of small fish and invertebrates.

Temperature Range – 23 - 26°C
pH Range – 6.0 – 8.0
Special Requirements - These fish should be kept in a shoal of 6 or more. They will thrive in a large, well planted environment.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Not advisable to keep in a community, they will eat anything they can fit in their mouths.
Feeding – Ideally, offer regular meals of small live and frozen foods such as chironomid larvae (bloodworm), Daphnia and Artemia along with good quality dried flakes, granules and plenty of vegetable matter. Shelled peas, blanched courgette, spinach and chopped fruit all make good additions to the menu. Larger specimens will also take chopped earthworm, prawn, mussel etc., but take care not to overfeed.
