Convict Cichlid

The Convict cichlid is one of the most popular of all South American Cichlids. This is due to it being incredibly hardy and easy to care for which makes it an ideal starter fish. They are easy to breed but can be aggressive and territorial. They should be provided with plenty of hiding caves so that they can keep their own territory.
Adult Length: 5.5 – 11cm (The male is larger).
Temperature Range: 23 - 29°C
pH Range: 5.0-7.5
Special Requirements: They prefer a slow moving aquarium. They should not be introduced to an immature aquarium as they are susceptible to deteriorating water quality.
Tanks Mates: The Convict Cichlid can be aggressive but, providing it has plenty of hiding places, it can be housed in a larger community aquarium.
Feeding: . The Convict is an omnivore and is not fussy about its diet. It will accept the majority of dry feeds and all live and frozen food.

The fish are selected at random however you are welcome to make a note on the order and the fish manager will do his best for you, requests are dependent on stock at the time of your order.
