Bedotia geayi, commonly known as the Madagascar rainbowfish, is a popular species in the aquarium hobby due to its striking iridescent colors and active schooling behavior. Native to Madagascar’s freshwater streams, it thrives in well-oxygenated, slightly acidic to neutral water. These fish grow up to 4 inches and prefer groups in spacious tanks with ample swimming room. Peaceful and hardy, they coexist well with similar-sized tank mates, making them a great choice for community aquariums.
