Ripsaw Catfish
Oxydoras niger
The Ripsaw Catfish (Oxydoras niger) is a large, armored freshwater fish native to the Amazon Basin. Recognized by the sharp, bony scutes along its sides, it can grow over 3 feet long in captivity. Peaceful despite its size, it requires a spacious aquarium with soft substrate and strong filtration.

Temperature Range – 21 - 24°C
pH Range – 6.0 – 7.8
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – They are robust so can tolerate most large fish environments.
Feeding – They will accept most food, including catfish pellets and frozen blood work etc.wing catfish that needs space. Prefers a soft substrate.

The fish are selected at random however you are welcome to make a note on the order and the fish manager will do his best for you, requests are dependent on stock at the time of your order.
