The JBL pH-Plus is a water conditioner for raising the pH and KH value for fresh and saltwater aquariums and is available in different units.
The great advantage of JBL pH-Plus: the rapid increase in the pH value also increases the carbonate hardness!
PH levels - The optimum pH value for keeping most freshwater fish and plants is in the neutral range around 7. JBL pH-Plus raises undesirably low pH values and at the same time the carbonate hardness in the aquarium. This is often necessary for areas with low carbonate hardness.
The effect in fresh water - The pH increase is achieved naturally by increasing the carbonate hardness. If the water is too soft, the carbonate hardness can be increased to any desired value by any multiple dosing. The pH rises to a maximum of 8.6.
The effect in sea water - Set the carbonate hardness to the natural value of 10-12 ° d KH in the sea and thus setting the required pH value of 8.2-8.5.
Application - 10 ml to 40 litres of water results in an increase in carbonate hardness of about 1 ° KH and, depending on the initial value, a pH increase of 0.0-0.5 units to pH 8.5. A pH or KH measurement should be carried out 1-2 days after the addition, e.g. with the JBL pH or KH Test Set and only afterwards, if necessary, can the dosage be adjusted accordingly.
