The Golden Fire Red Dwarf Cichlid is a highly sought-after, captive-bred colour variant of the classic South American dwarf cichlid. Line-bred by hobbyists to completely eliminate the dark lateral stripes found on wild strains, this fish boasts a solid, metallic golden-orange body accented by intensely vivid red fins.
They like a densely planted aquarium with plenty of hiding places.
Species – Golden Fire Red Dwarf Cichlid - Apistogramma agassizii
Current Size – 2cm - 3cm
Adult Length – Males 7-8cm Females 4-5cm

pH Range – 5.5– 7.5
Special Requirements - They prefer a soft, slightly acidic environment. Fine sand substrate, dense planting, driftwood, and secluded hiding spots like caves
Tanks Mates and Compatibility - These little cichlids are timid fish and tank mates should be chosen to compliment this. As with most cichlids, they can become territorial during breeding. They can be kept with other dwarf cichlids.
Feeding - The Agassiz are primarily carnivores and feed mostly on invertebrates in the wild. They are happy with most quality dry food but should be fed live or frozen food regularly.
